Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein attended a consultative meeting to clarify the plan for conducting a joint survey of the waterway and coastal boundary for the construction of an International Coastal Port near Mudon Township.
This meeting at the State Government Office on Friday focused on clarification and presentations regarding the formation and assignment of a Joint Measurement Team for the waterway and coastal boundary, and the necessary procedures for measuring, defining, and submitting the waterway and coastal boundary.
And, the Chief Minister noted that just as a new international-standard airport project is underway near Mudon Township, the construction of an International Coastal Port would make this a highly beneficial project for both the State and the country.
He instructed that the survey work for the Mawlamyine Port waterway and coastal boundary be continued and asked that relevant departments and officials cooperate and assist the Myanmar Port Authority's survey team to rapidly complete the necessary work to implement the International Coastal Port under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) system.
