Conferring Honourary Title: Title conferred to Japan-Myanmar Association Chairman

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha ThraySithuThadoeThiriThudhamma Min Aung Hlaing presented honorary titles and medals to those who performed excellently for the development, peace and prosperity of the State in commemoration of the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence day 2023.

On 1st and 2nd January, the ceremonies were held successfully and the SAC Chairman Prime Minister presented honourary titles and medals to the recipients, individually in person. There are people who were not able to attend the ceremonies to accept the titles in person and on behalf of due to various reasons.

The relevant Region and State Chief Ministers and Commanders conferred honorary titles to those recipients in person. On Monday, the honourary title and medal conferring was held at the BayintNaung Guest House in Nay Pyi Taw.

The SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General ThadoeMaha Thray Sithu Thadoe ThiriThudhamma Min Aung Hlaing and officials, Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Association Mr. Hideo Watanabe and officials attended the ceremony.

First, the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen ThiriPyan Chi Sithu Soe Htut read out the orders conferred the title. Later, the Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented ThiriPyan Chi title and insignia to the Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Association due to his exceptional cooperation for the development of the state, peace and prosperity.

After that, ThraySithu title and insignia were conferred to former Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso who performed outstandingly for the State’s development, peace and prosperity and the Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Association accepted it on behalf of the former Japanese Prime Minister.

In his speech, the Prime Minister said that the Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Association is a good friend who has conducted for the development of Myanmar and friendship of the two countries for many years. He performed outstandingly the friendship between armed forces of the two countries, development of Myanmar and Japanese investments to come to Myanmar.

The Prime Minister expressed his belief that due to his efforts, cooperation and friendships could be strengthened among the governments, people and armed forces of the two countries and more progress can be made.

After that, Mr. Hideo Watanabe spoke words of thanks on conferring titles. He also affirmed that he will conduct more efforts for the friendship between the two countries which is consistent with the title in the future. He also expressed thanks for presenting titles to the former Japanese Prime Minister. He said that he will always strive for the development of Myanmar and the standing of Myanmar Tatmadaw as long as he lives.

After the ceremony, the Prime Minister took documentary photos together with the Japan-Myanmar Association Chairman and cordially greeted.
