







The 2026 Myanmar Women’s Day ceremony was held on Friday at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-I (MICC-I), organized by the Myanmar National Committee on Women.
The ceremony was attended by wife of the Vice President (1) Honorary Patron of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation Daw San San Aye, Vice President (2) Honorary Patron of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, and concerned personnel. President U Min Aung Hlaing delivered a video message at the ceremony, marking the 30th anniversary of the Myanmar National Committee on Women.
The President praised the contributions of Myanmar women to national development and reaffirmed the government's commitment to promoting gender equality, women's rights, education, employment, and leadership opportunities.
He highlighted the implementation of the National Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Women (2023–2032) and stressed that a Ministry of Women's Affairs has been established to strengthen efforts to improve women's welfare and empowerment.
The President also called for greater support for girls' education, especially in rural areas, increased women's participation in the workforce and decision-making, and continued cooperation to build a safer and more inclusive society for women and girls. This was followed by a briefing from Union Minister for Women’s Affairs Dr Thet Thet Zin on ongoing efforts to promote women’s development, rights, and protection against violence.
The ceremony featured screening of a video clip on progress made in women’s development over the past 30 years, and awarding to the outstanding women from different sectors for their achievements in sports, security, public service, and business. After the ceremony, attendees visited the exhibition by the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Vocation Training Schools and Women Organizations, marking the Myanmar Women's Day.
