






A commemorative ceremony for the 59th anniversary of Myanmar Police Force Day was held at the Myanmar International Convention Center – II in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday, with the attendance of Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win.
Before commencing the ceremony, attendees observed a minute of silence in remembrance of the fallen members of the police force who sacrificed their lives during their assigned duties. In his speech, Vice Senior General Soe Win emphasized the need for cooperation between the Myanmar Police and the Tatmadaw to achieve peace, tranquility, and the rule of law throughout the nation. This cooperation is essential for the successful implementation of the 5-point Road Map and 9 objectives of the State Administration Council, as well as for ensuring the security and socio-economic well-being of the people.
Additionally, he highlighted the four key missions of the Myanmar Police Force: domestic security, community peace and tranquility, the prevalence of law and order, and the suppression and control of narcotic drugs, along with carrying out social services. Furthermore, Vice Senior General Soe Win stressed the importance of coordination and collaboration among countries to combat transnational crimes that threaten political, economic, and social development and state security.
He acknowledged the outstanding performance of police members and mentioned that the government had conferred honorary medals on 7,388 members from October 1, 2022, to October 1, 2023. He urged all police members to fulfill their duties while adhering to the law and regulations, protecting the interests of the people with skillfulness, honesty, and righteousness, and striving to become a reliable force for society.
The ceremony included a screening of a video clip commemorating the 59th anniversary of the Myanmar Police Force, followed by Vice Senior General Soe Win and SAC member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae presenting honorary medals to recipients. They also viewed displays of documentary photos, reliefs, machinery and equipment used in the police force, technical equipment, weapons, uniforms, communication devices, drug detectors, and vehicles.
Subsequently, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung delivered a speech in honor of the occasion, followed by the presentation of honorary medals to individuals recognized for promotion rank, outstanding performance, women's performance, and cleanliness in the housing unit.
