Hundreds of Colombian motorcyclists blocked streets in Bogotá in protest against the city's new regulations, which ban more than one passenger per motorcycle on certain days and hours, in order to tackle rising street crime.

Mayor Claudia Lopez defends the measure that aims to limit the number of passengers to one only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 7 pm to 4 am. The mayor's office has stated that these are the hours when most delinquency on motorcycles occurs. However, motorcyclists believe it is a measure that stigmatizes them more than controlling insecurity. This law is effective as of Monday, April 11.
