Clarification of projects: SAC Chairman attended clarification of projects in Myeik

The Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the occasion on the clarification of fisheries industry, fish and prawn breeding in Myeik District, Tanithayi Region and the projects to be implemented in the region was held at the office of Myeik Public Corporation Limited in Myeik Township on January 15.

Also present at the occasion were the members accompanied on the inspection tour of SAC Chairman, Region Chief Minister, Commander of Coastal Region Command, region government ministers, district and township level departmental personnel, fish and prawn breeding entrepreneurs and officials.

First, the chairman of Taninthayi Region Fishries Federation and chairman of Myeik Public Corporation Limited U Hla Than clarified the conditions of border trade, implementations of industrial zones, improvement of Myeik region fisheries industry, construction of HtonKhar-ThePhyu-MawTaung Road, operation of MawTaung border trade gate, prawn breeding, in-shor and off-shore fishing boats and the continual implementation of projects, project in-charge of Myeik Internatinal standard fish auction market and industrial project U Han Htoo Aung explained the purposes of constructing project and the process of implementation with Video Clip, secretary of Taninthayi Region Fishries Federation U Thet Soe elaboraed the conditions of in-shore and off-shore fishing boats, installation of Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) at the off-shore fishing boats, status of yearly export of fishery products and sysmatcally scrutinizing the process and the director of Myeik Public Corporation Limited U Aye Min Aung clarified Myeik district project to be implemented by BBWI & MCPC Company Limited.

Upon the clarification, the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister said that the project sites for fish auction market and industrial zone were given during the Myeik trip in 2021, the fish auction market is needed to construct as a first stage by giving priority, as Taninthayi Region is not sufficient in rice need, the implementation of projects should not affect the farmland and land is needed to use effectively, the state is implementing for generating hydro-electricity for the supply of electricity sufficiently for Myeik Region, likewise the efforts are needed to generate solar power, the efforts need to put for Myeik jetty to be an international port, the mineral based industry should be carry out apart from the fisheries sector as Taninthayi Region is blessed with the endowment of iron ore, coal and limestone, Taninthayi Region is expected to be oil pot of country, so the collaboration of entrepreneurs and authorities is needed for the better oil production.

Then, the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister was presented a photo of Myeik Township by the chairman of Myeik Public Corporation Limited U Hla Than and officials. Afterward, the SAC chairman cordially greeted the attendees.
