Chinese premier meets Malaysian, Singaporean leaders

Chinese Premier Li Qiang held talks with Prime Ministers of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong in Beijing on Saturday. At a welcoming ceremony, the Chinese Premier said China and Malaysia should work together to promote the bilateral relations to a higher-quality stage and that China will increase its imports from Malaysia.

Anwar said Malaysia’s new government takes the relationship with China as a priority of its foreign relations. The two leaders also witnessed the signing of a series of documents on cooperation in trade, agriculture, and other areas.

Welcoming Singapore premier, Li said China always puts ASEAN as a priority of its relations with countries of the Pacific region and hopes to expand cooperation with Singapore on technologies and supply chains. The two leaders also witnessed the signing of a series of documents in trade, science, environment, and other areas.
