Chinese Navy unveils its first missile destroyer

China unveiled its first Type 055 guided-missile destroyer called the Nanchang which entered service with the PLA Navy in January 2020. It is the first domestically developed Type 055 10,000 ton-class destroyers in China. Fourteen months after its commissioning, the Nanchang undertook its first air defense and anti-missile mission under realistic combat scenarios.

During the drill, the Nanchang fired five missiles, and all of them hit their targets, demonstrating the combat capacity of the destroyer.
