Chinese Language Proficiency: Myanmar-China Tour Guide Training opened

Myanmar-China Tour Guide Training jointly conducted by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, the Bureau of International Exchange and Cooperation under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar was opened hybrid system on Tuesday.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung participated in the meeting online and gave a speech. In his speech, the Union Minister said that after International airlines were allowed to resume operations and visa exemptions were provided, tourists from more than 90 countries came to Myanmar.

In addition, visa exemption has been granted to 8 ASEAN countries and more than 100 countries have been granted electronic visas. Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China includes in the the countries with the most tourists coming to Myanmar and at the time of the re-opening of tourism industry, Chinese tourists are the most arriving.

That’s why, the course will support the Chinese speaking tour guides for the Chinese tourism market to have language skills and provide good services. Currently, Chinese language courses are opened online and offline system for the Ministry staff and tour operators in the tourism industry.

The China-Myanmar Friendship Scholarships were awarded to 40 outstanding students studying tourism and hospitality at universities and colleges. He expressed his belief that the language skills for Chinese speaking guides but also the key points in providing practical services to Chinese tourists in the workplace can be learned from the course.

After that, the First Level Inspector of the Bureau of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the Senior Counsellor of Chinese Embassy to Myanmar gave speeches.

The Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Yuking Culture and Tourism Industry Technology Service Company reported on the course. The course will be conducted to 58 trainees from 15th to 25th November.
