Chinese automaker Geely committed to help Indonesia build onshore electric car manufacturing capacities by 2026.  Geely plans to invest in Indonesia and will help the latter to develop its local manufacturing capacities to eventually build Indonesian-made E-V.

Indonesia has also asked the Vietnamese EV maker Vinfast to have production facilities in Indonesia by 2026. Vinfast plans to invest around 1.2 billion USD in Indonesia in the long term including for an electric car manufacturing plant that is targeted to start production in 2026. The investment pledges followed last month’s commitments by China's Hozon new energy automobile and Japan's Mitsubishi motors.
