China's annual parliamentary session concludes in Beijing

China's National People’s Congress held its closing ceremony of fourth session attended by Xi Jingping and other state leaders in Beijing on Thursday.  At the meeting, lawmakers approved the outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for national economic and social development.

In this year's Two Sessions, they also announced a steady seven-percent boost to China's annual defence budget, and approved laws on development planning, ethnic unity and a new environmental code.
