China had decided not to impose additional tariffs on certain imports from Canada from March 1st to Dec 31st, 2026, the Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.

The Ministry said that to implement the important consensus reached between the two countries’ leaders, China and Canada had made specific arrangements to address economic and trade issues properly in such areas as electric vehicles, steel and aluminum products, and agricultural and aquatic products. On the other hand, Canadian government had recently announced partial adjustments to its additional tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum products.
