China supports Cambodia with crucial mine clearance assistance

In Cambodia's Siem Reap, a massive endeavor is underway to eliminate the lethal threat posed by millions of landmines remaining from three decades of war and internal conflicts.

A collaborative effort between mine clearance specialists and operatives from China and Cambodia is making significant strides towards ensuring the safety and well-being of the local population. According to recent reports, the period between 1979 and June 2023 witnessed landmine and explosive remnants of war (ERW) explosions claiming 19,821 lives and causing injuries or amputations to 45,205 individuals in Cambodia.
