

Chinese mainland reported five new imported COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 1,768, the National Health Commission said on Friday. Of all the imported cases on the mainland, 1,707 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, and 61 remained hospitalized, the commission said. No deaths had been reported from the imported cases.
As of Thursday, a total of 83,027 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland. Three new asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland on Thursday, with one imported, the commission said, adding that 31 asymptomatic cases, two of them imported, were released from medical observation on the day.
The commission said 297 asymptomatic cases, including 41 from overseas, were still under medical observation. By Thursday, 1,099 confirmed cases including four deaths had been reported in Hong Kong, 45 confirmed cases in Macao, and 443 in Taiwan including seven deaths.
