China reports 48 new coronavirus cases on Monday, all imported

China on Monday reported a total of 48 new cases of the COVID-19 disease, with all cases being imported from overseas, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday. The commission said that 180 people were still suspected of being infected with the virus. The overall number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland had reached 81,518 by the end of Monday.

No new confirmed case was reported in Wuhan, capital of Hubei on Monday. The health commission of Hubei Province said the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hubei remained unchanged at 67,801 by Monday, including 50,006 in Wuhan. By the end of Monday, 682 confirmed cases including four deaths had been reported in Hong Kong, 39 confirmed cases in Macao and 306 in Taiwan, including five deaths. A total of 124 patients in Hong Kong, 10 in Macao and 39 in Taiwan had been discharged from hospital upon recovery.
