China reports 1,886 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection, 98 new deaths

The Chinese health authorities said on Tuesday that 1,886 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection and 98 deaths were reported on Monday from 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

Also on Monday, 1,097 patients became seriously ill, and 1,701 people were discharged from hospital after recovery. By the end of Monday, 60 confirmed cases including one death had been reported in Hong Kong, 10 confirmed cases in Macao, and 22 in Taiwan. Two patients in Hong Kong, five in Macao and two in Taiwan had been discharged from hospital after recovery.
