China reports 16 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus, including 12 imported ones

The Chinese health authority said on Monday it received reports of 16 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and 14 new deaths on Sunday from 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. According to China's National Health Commission, among the new confirmed cases, four were in central China's Hubei Province and 12 were imported cases.

The deaths were all in Hubei. Meanwhile, 41 new suspected cases were reported on the Chinese mainland on Sunday, the commission said. By the end of Sunday, a total of 217 confirmed cases had been reported in China's Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan region, with 148 in Hong Kong, 10 in Macao and 59 in Taiwan.
