China reports 13 new COVID-19 cases, with 12 imported

Chinese health authority said on Wednesday that it received reports of 13 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 11 new deaths on Tuesday. Reports from 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps showed that there were 8,056 confirmed cases still in existence, with 2,622 severe cases, plus 119 suspected cases.

The accumulative confirmed cases on the mainland added up to 80,894. A total of 682,327 close contacts had been traced, and 9,222 of them were still under medical observation. Hubei still has 7,795 confirmed cases in existence, with 7,483 in Wuhan. Of the province's 2,580 severe cases, 2,514 are in Wuhan.

No new suspected case was reported in Hubei on Tuesday, and the number of suspected cases now in existence was zero. By the end of Tuesday, a total of 257 confirmed cases had been reported in China's Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan region, with 167 in Hong Kong, 13 in Macao and 77 in Taiwan.
