China offers humanitarian aid to flood-hit Libya

The Chinese government has decided to offer emergency humanitarian aid worth 30 million yuan to flood-affected Libya for relief operations, said spokesperson of China International Development Cooperation Agency on Monday.

China's aid supplies mainly include tents, blankets, first aid kits and hand press water pumps, based on the needs of the Libyan side. One week ago, the deadly floods caused by a dam burst have claimed the lives of at least 5,500 and injured over 7,000 others and more than 10,000 people remain missing, the spokesman of the Emergency Department of Libya's Ministry of Health said.
