China calls for immediate ceasefire, full civilian protection in Gaza

China on Wednesday called for immediate cessation of hostilities between the Israeli and Palestinian sides, full protection of affected civilians, and the promotion of two-state solution at the United Nations Security Council.

Zhang Jun, China's Permanent Representative to the UN, said the conflict has affected the world, and China has been making unremitting efforts to restore peace, and the international community must step up its efforts to promote an immediate ceasefire and an end to the war.
