China / ASEAN: 15th Prosecutors-General Conference

The 15th China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference was held in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, People's Republic of China, from September 22 to 24, 2025.

A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister and Union Attorney-General Dr. Thida Oo attended the event. The Conference was held under the theme "Combating Money Laundering and Corruption and Recovering Assets in the Technology Era."

There, the Union Minister and Union Attorney-General remarked that the conference serves as an important platform for promoting international legal cooperation and addressing transnational criminal issues. She noted that legal cooperation is necessary not only among ASEAN Member States but also between China and ASEAN Member States to implement the conference's theme.

She stated that Myanmar ratified the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) in 2012, the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) in 2004, and signed the United Nations Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism (UNTSFT) in 2006. Following the discussions, the Joint Declaration of the 15th China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference was signed.
