

Fifteen major Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shenzhen, are set to replace their public service fleets with electric vehicles, according to a statement released by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The massive replacement project, under joint efforts of eight ministries of China, is set to cover automobiles including buses and taxis along with vehicles used for sanitation, postal services, express delivery, and urban logistics. Altogether, the project is expected to replace over 600,000 public service vehicles across the cities within two years.
The plan also includes erecting some 700,000 charging posts and 7800 battery swapping stations. The plan aims to promote the development of emerging technologies like smart charging and high-power charging.
