Child Rights Issues: National Committee Holds Meeting 1/2021

National Committee for Child Rights held the meeting 1/2021 at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the meeting, Chairperson of the Committee Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine stressed street children and pledged to draw plans to to reduce the number of street children and to protect them.

Currently, officials are working with 24-hour Help Line Service and also providing cash assistance and counsellors to the street children who were subjected to sexual and physical abuse. She also highlighted cash aid programme for children under 2 years of age and their mothers.

The Union Minister urged the members of the Committee to work together to help the children get their rights and fairness. This meeting continued with reports on implementation of the tasks regarding the rights, rehabilitation and protection.
