Chemical and Waste Mgmt. Training: MOIMSMED UM delivered the opening remarks

The opening ceremony of the Chemical Management Training and Waste Management Training was held on Thursday morning at the Central Chemical Management Department in Insein Township, Yangon Region.

Union Minister for Industry and MSMEs Development Dr. Charlie Than attended virtually from Nay Pyi Taw and delivered the opening address.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that the training was organized under the supervision of the Central Supervisory Committee in cooperation with relevant ministries and organizations.

The purpose of the training is to educate those engaged in chemical and waste-related work including handlers, users, storage personnel, and transporters, about the safety measures and procedures required to ensure workplace safety. He encouraged the trainees to actively study, discuss, and learn the training subjects being taught, and to practically apply the knowledge gained in their respective work responsibilities.

Afterward, the Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Industrial Cooperation under the Ministry of Industry explained the objectives of the training and the topics to be discussed and taught during the course. The training program will be conducted over two days, from May 28 to 29. Lectures and discussions will be delivered by subject-matter experts from relevant ministries, and a total of 65 trainees from businesses related to chemical operations are attending the training.
