Ceremony of Various Donations :Rakhine State CM attended the ceremony

A ceremony of offering robes to monasteries in Sittwe, donating school uniforms and stationery to students, and providing rice and food supplies for internally displaced persons (IDPs) by the Presiding Sayadw of The Phyu Taw Ya Dhamma Yeiktha and Maha Myaing Taw Ya Dhamma Yeiktha, Bhaddanta Panyazawta was held at the U Ottama Hall in Sittwe on January 19. The ceremony was attended by the Presiding Sayadaw, State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, members of the Sangha, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Linn and his wife, and regional officials.

During the ceremony, the Presiding Sayadaw delivered a discourse regarding the offering of robes to the monasteries in Sittwe. Subsequently, the Chief Minister and his wife, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, and regional government members and their wives offered robes and cash donations to the members of Sangha.

The Venerable Sayadaw, along with the Chief Minister, his wife, government members, and donors, then distributed the Robes, alms rice, beans, and cash donations to the members of Sangha, school uniforms and stationery sets to the students and rice, beans, and various food supplies to the displaced persons.

Following the ceremony, the Sayadaw, Chief Minister and officials visited the Sittwe 500-bed General Hospital. They toured the wards to offer words of encouragement to patients and presented them with cash of honor and food packages. They also provided cash awards and food supplies to the doctors, nurses, and health workers at the hospital.

Later, the Venerable Sayadaw, the Chief Minister and his wife, and government members visited the Lawkananda Pagoda. They paid obeisance to the Maravijaya and Abhaya Raja Muni Buddha Images, and the historic Aung Sakkyar Muni Buddha Image situated on the pagoda platform. They also inspected the installation of heat-resistant stone tiles on the pagoda's terrace.

Finally, at the State Government Guest House, the Chief Minister, his wife, and government members offered "Day Meal" and cash donations to the Sayadaw. In turn, the Sayadaw presented honorary cash rewards for members of the security forces and departmental staff, it’s reported.
