






The cash donation ceremony for the elderly persons accommodated in Karuna Kabar Home for the Aged by the Ministry of Information was held at the Yadanapon Hall of the Home in Dakkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on Monday with the attendance of the Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn.
First, a Video clip of “from refreshing 78th year, MRTV for people” was shown. Next, the Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn extended words of greeting saying that this is cash donation ceremony for the Karuna Kabar Home for the Aged in a gesture of paying respect to the elderly persons who served the State duties impressively, honoring the Tatmadawmen who are in the front line and the contribution to the older person as the Buddhists and it’s immensely delighted for making such donation.
Then, the Union Minister handed over the donations of 5 million Kyats for the Karuna Kabar Home for the Aged, 900,000 Kyats which is expenditure for a day long meal donation, MRTV DTH satellite dish and DVB T2 set top boxes and an in-charge of the Karuna Kabar Home for the Aged Major Thaung Myint (Retired) accepted and returned certificate of honor and expressed words of thanks for the donation.
Next, the singers from MRTV and Film and Video Actor Dein Daung presented pleasant songs. In addition, a grandma and a disable Tamadawman joined by singing songs and the older persons enjoyed the performances happily.
After that, the Union Minister, permanent secretary and departmental officials presented gifts of money by drawing ballots. After the ceremony, the Union Minister and party enjoyed lunch together with the elderly persons.
Then, the Union Minister visited Sabal hall where the elderly persons accommodated, inquired the accommodation, food and health conditions and cordially gave the words of comfort. Karuna Kaba Home for the Aged is being opened with the aim of accommodating and taking care of the family members of the retired Tatmadawmen, the bereaved families of Tatmadawmen who risked their lives and those who served the best interest of the country and the Tatmadaw.
Currently, there are 9 buildings for male older persons, 6 buildings for female older persons, 2 of older person couples, one of medical service in the Home and 126 male older persons, 59 female older persons, 8 family members of fallen Tatmadawmen, 7 disable Tatmadawmen, totaling 200 persons are accommodating at the Karuna Kabar Home for the Aged.
