





The donation ceremony for patients undergoing free eye surgeries for the fourth time at the Sitagu Myintmo San Eye Hospital was held Monday morning at the Sasana Beikman within the Maha Visutarama Monastery in Magway.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Magway Region Government, led by the Region Chief Minister and his wife. During the event, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and Region Hluttaw Speaker Dr. Maung Maung Htay donated 3 million Kyats for the patients receiving free eye surgeries at the Sitagu Myintmo San Eye Hospital (4th Batch), followed by the pouring of libation water to share the merits gained.
Afterward, the Region Chief Minister and responsible officials toured the Sitagu Myintmo San Eye Hospital to observe the systematic eye examinations, surgeries being performed in the operating theater, and the post-operative medical care provided to the patients. They also distributed eyeglasses, eye drops, medicines, financial aid, and nutritional supplements to the patients who had undergone the free surgeries, while warmly greeting and offering words of encouragement to the local patients.
At the Sitagu Myintmo San Eye Hospital in Magway, more than 2,400 eye patients traveling from various townships across Magway Region were examined during this fourth initiative. Sitagu specialist doctors are performing free surgeries for cataracts and glaucoma from June 30 to July 7. It is also reported that the Sitagu Missionary Group and well-wishers are providing free food and accommodation for all the eye patients and their caregivers.
