Cambodia hosts int'l conference on combating online scams

Cambodia on Wednesday hosted the International Conference on Combating Online Scams, aimed at sharing best practices and strengthening global cooperation. In his keynote address, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that online scams constitute a cross-border regional issue rather than a single-country problem.

He also highlighted an upcoming draft intended to introduce stricter legal penalties and reinforce the country's digital resilience. During the two-day event, officials and experts from more than 20 countries and international organizations will participate in sessions covering online scams as a global emergency.
