



Calm has returned to Bamako following a wave of coordinated attacks across Mali, and the situation is now under control. Explosions and sustained gunfire were reported in the capital as armed groups launched assaults across multiple regions into Sunday.
Mali has faced prolonged insecurity linked to insurgent groups affiliated with al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, alongside a separatist movement in the north. The military said efforts to repel the attacks were underway, with some militants retreating. Malian authorities are introducing a 72-hour curfew in the capital Bamako, from 9pm to 6am. This decision follows coordinated attacks in several cities across the country.
