






Under the supervision of the Magway Region Government, during the 2589th Myathalon Pagoda Festival, on the full moon day of Thadingyut, a lighting ceremony with 9,000 oil lamps was held. In the morning of October 8, a ceremony of offering dry provisions took place at the Myathalon Pagoda platform.
During the offering, 125 members of Sangha from Pariyatti Learning Centers and monasteries in Magway Township, along with 121 Senior and junior Buddhist nuns, were donated with offerings of rice, cooking oil, medicines, and various donation items.
These offerings were made by Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, the Western Air Command Headquarters Commander, the Magway Air Base Commander, members of the region government and their spouses, the Chief Justice, the Regional Advocate General, responsible personnel from the Magway military station, departmental heads and staff at the regional, district, and township levels, as well as devotees visiting the pagoda.
The total value of the offerings of dry provisions amounted to 43.720 million kyats. It is also reported that the regional government provided Mont-Hin-Ngar (fish soup with rice noodle) to those attending the dry provisions offering ceremony and the pagoda visitors.
The 2,589th Buddha Pujaniya Festival of the Magway Myathalon Pagoda, like previous years, is being held with offerings of food and donations to the members of Sangha, uninterrupted recitation of the Mahapathana Dhamma Discourses, and the lighting and offering of 9,000 oil lamps, 9,000 flowers, and 9,000 incense sticks.
Additionally, there are ceremonies for offering rice and other offerings. The 2,589th Buddha Pujaniya Festival of the Magway Myathalon Pagoda is being conducted in accordance with tradition from the 10th Waxing day to the 14th Waning day of Thadingyut, from October 1st to 20th, lasting 20 days.
During this time, various entertainment of Anyeint show and Theatrical troupes are held, along with the sale of traditional Myanmar foods, consumer goods, various agricultural products, and local products through more than 800 market stalls, creating a bustling and lively atmosphere.
