Boat capsizes in Philippine lake: Rescue operation will continue, says Coast Guard

A small passenger boat capsized in a lake near the Philippine capital on Thursday, killing at least 26 people on board and leaving six missing.

"We are able to recover 40 survivors and 26 casualties," coast guard spokesman tells reporters, adding that the rescue operation will resume Friday.

The accident happened in the early afternoon at Laguna Lake, near Manila, hours after Typhoon Doksuri had swept out of the northern Philippines.
