Bilateral diplomacy between Vietnam and Austria

Vietnamese President Võ Văn Thưởng and his spouse will pay an official visit to Austria at the invitation of President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen. This will be the first official visit to Austria by a Vietnamese State President in 15 years.

The visit is expected to further tighten the traditional relationship over the past 50 years between the 2 countries, and at the same time, create cooperation opportunities in many fields in the coming time. During the visit, the State President is scheduled to meet UN organizations and this would enhance Vietnam's position in multilateral activities.
