



The Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw, U Khin Yi, received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar, Ms. Ma Jia, on Tuesday morning at the reception hall in the Hluttaw complex in Nay Pyi Taw, it’s leant.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw stated that China has consistently supported Myanmar on the global stage. He expressed gratitude for China being the first to provide aid and assistance following the Mandalay earthquake. He affirmed support for the China-Myanmar strategic partnership and the efforts to build a community with a shared future, sharing weal and woe.
He stated that the parliaments of China and Myanmar would cooperate more closely together. Regarding online scams, he noted that the government has been continuously conducting investigations and arrests. To effectively prevent and suppress online scams, a draft Law for Countering Online Scam has already been prepared.
The Hluttaw will prioritize enacting this draft law during the upcoming second regular session. The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar said that in accordance with the 15th Five-Year Plan of Bilateral Cooperation (2026-2030) commencing this year, cooperation will be expanded, and efforts will continue to implement the China-Myanmar community with a shared future, sharing weal and woe.
She reiterated that China has always supported Myanmar and will strive to further deepen parliamentary relations between the two countries. Attending this meeting alongside the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker were the Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw, U Maung Maung Ohn, responsible officials from the Pyithu Hluttaw office, and officials from the Chinese Embassy, it’s reported.
