U.S. President Joe Biden said on Thursday his meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in England was productive. Biden said he's affirming the nations' special relationship as allies on climate change, global security and fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
The American president said the alliance is addressing challenges that include cybersecurity, new technologies, global health and the climate crisis. Biden also said he and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson discussed a U.S.-hosted climate summit in April and an upcoming climate meeting scheduled for later this year in Scotland. The talks also covered Afghanistan and the coming withdrawal of troops, as well as how to contain the coronavirus pandemic, he said. Biden, Johnson and the leaders of the Group of Seven nations, the world’s largest economies, are meeting for a summit that begins Friday in Cornwall, England.
