Better Transportation: Magweza Bridge opened in Kachin State

Magweza Bridge, connecting NaungMon and KhaungLanPhu Townships of Kachin State was commissioned into service on 16th November.

Bridge Special Group (1) of the Bridge Department constructed the 590 ft long bridge on KaSamKha Creek in Puta-O Township. The opening ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and officials.

The Chief Minister said the new facility was constructed as par the guidance of the Head of State, and urged local people to make cooperative efforts for regional development.

After formal opening of the bridge, the Union Minister and party strolled along the newly opened bridge which is situated on Magweza-KhaungLanPhu Road in NaungMon Township. The bridge is of reinforced concrete type and it has 24 ft wide motor way. The bridge can withstand 60 tons of loads and cargo trucks can now pass through the bridge to reach Khaung Lan Phu Township.
