Better Health Care Services: Services of Urban Health Centers to be expanded

Coordination meeting for promoting health care services at Urban Health Centers-UHCs was held at the Training Center of Yangon General Hospital on Sunday with the attendance of Union Minister for Health Professor Dr Thet Khaing Win. In his opening speech, the Union Minister said that according to the formation of Public Health Department, the UHC have operated in urban areas and provided health care services for all people.

He added that promoting the health care services of UHCs could help reduce the workloads of the Public Hospitals. He also stressed the need to implement the systematic patient-transfer system. The ministry provids medicines for non communicable disceases, and people can get these medicines at the respective UHCs.

The Union Minister urged all to make systematic arrangements for public convenience, while conducting regular vaccination programs for all concerned aged groups. Then Directors General of Departments of Public Health and Medical Services eleborated on the necessaries for UHC development.

Next, officials presented reports on the progress of UHCs, plans for expansion and requirements in which the Union Minister and Directors General coordinated the requirements.
