Beijing organizers update on 'green' Winter Games

Beijing Olympic organizers claimed on Thursday over 346 million people across China have engaged in winter sports as the country strives to sustain the boom fueled by hosting the 2022 Winter Games. Ahead of hosting its first ever Winter Olympics, the Chinese government has aimed to develop the winter sports industry to be valued at 157 billion USD, while also asking 5,000 schools to incorporate skiing, skating and other winter sports into the curriculum. The Beijing 2022 organizing committee on Thursday released a report on the progress of green initiatives and sustainability for the Games.
