Awareness raising seminar :Seminar on fight against corruption held in Mandalay

The Anti-Corruption Commission, in collaboration with the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI), organized an awareness-raising seminar on the fight against corruption at the MRCCI hall in Chan Aye Thar San Township of Mandalay Region in the morning on 23rd December.

The event was attended by around 100 participants, including Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman U Sitt Aye, Mandalay Region Government Ministers, Commission member U Kyaw Win Thein, Secretary General of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Daw Khaing Khaing Nwe, Chairman and members of MRCCI, other concerned officials, entrepreneurs and invited guests.

In his opening speech, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung emphasized that such awareness-raising events would help entrepreneurs and stakeholders in related fields to understand and grasp anti-corruption policies. He also urged them to actively work together with transparency, fairness, and competition, rejecting corrupt practices, to help boost the nation's economy. He highlighted the importance of implementing the country's economic policies successfully.

Next, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, U Sitt Aye pointed out that these types of awareness-raising seminars aim to engage individuals from various sectors in the anti-corruption process. He emphasized the need to create a fair and transparent society that rejects corruption, which negatively impacts the nation's political, economic, social, and cultural development.

Subsequently, Daw Nan Yadanar Htun, the Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission Office's International Relations and Prevention Department, provided an explanation of the meaning of corruption and its impact on businesses. U Kaung Zaw Thant, the Director-General of the Anti-Corruption Commission, discussed the relevant anti-corruption laws. There was also an interactive session where attendees asked questions, and the commission members provided answers. The event ended with words of thanks from the UMFCCI General Secretary, and the ceremony concluded successfully.
