Award Presenting Ceremony: Acting President attended and delivered the opening speech

The Award presenting ceremony for 26th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held in the morning of October 13 at the Zeyyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw. The Acting President, the Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, attended the event and delivered a speech.

First, the artistes from the Department of Fine Arts under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture performed the Yein dance called "Nine Precious Gems Adorned with Jewelries". Next, the Acting President, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, delivered the opening address.

In his address, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman stated that the grand Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions for song, dance, writing, and instrumental music have been held continuously as a tradition, and we have now successfully held the 26th edition of this grand competition.

He said that such successful hosting has led to improvements in preserving and promoting our national cultural heritage art forms, the distinctiveness and strengthening of national characteristics, and that it is well known to all that we have been able to demonstrate, preserve, and promote the positive outcomes of patriotic spirit and a vibrant Union spirit. National culture is the heritage that the indigenous peoples of a country must preserve as vitally as their own lives. The higher the national culture, the higher the status of the country and its people, enabling it to stand proudly in the world.

It is through national culture that we express our unique national identity, intrinsic value, and status. We must strive to preserve, promote, and perpetuate these excellent traditions and good legacies from the past, combining them with the good opportunities of the present era to leave a solid foundation and a good inheritance for future generations of youth. This is our national duty and a responsibility that has now fallen upon the shoulders of all of us, the current citizens of the nation etc.

After that, prizes were presented. The Acting President SSPC Chairman presented honorary awards to traditional dance groups from Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, and Chin States, rural traditional dance groups from Sagaing, Tanintharyi, Bago, Magway, and Mandalay Regions, traditional ethnic dance groups from Mon and Rakhine States, a rural traditional dance group from Yangon Region, a traditional ethnic dance group from Shan State and rural traditional dance groups from Ayeyawady Region.

Next, the SSPC Vice-Chairman Vice-Senior General Soe Win, presented honorary medals and certificates to the special prize, first, second, and third prize winners from the Dawei traditional Yein dance competition and the free-verse dance competition.

Then, the Prime Minister, SSPC member U Nyo Saw, presented honorary medals and certificates to the winners in the Maha Gita Higher Education Level, men's and women's categories, of the singing competition.

After that, the SSPC Secretary, Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, SSPC members Union Ministers, SSPC member, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air), and the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) presented honorary medals and certificates to the winners of the singing competition.

Next, Ma Moe Myint San from Mandalay Region, who won the first prize in the old/temporary Songs basic education level (age 15-20) of the singing competition, performed.

After that, the Commander-in-Chief (Air), the Chairman of Constitutional Tribunal and Chairman of Union Election Commission, presented honorary medals and certificates to the winners of the dance competition.

Then, Maung Shine Wanna Zaw from Mandalay Region, who won the first prize in the Higher Education Level (men's) of the dance competition, performed.

Next, the Union Minister for the Ministry (1) of the President's Office, U Tin Aung San, presented awards to the first prize winners in the basic education level (age 15-20) of the writing competition.

After that, a performance was given featuring a song written by Maung Hein Yar Zar Phyo from Sagaing Region, who won the first prize in the writing competition.

Then, Union Ministers and Union-level officials presented awards to the winners of the various instrumental music competitions.

After that, the first prize winners of the instrumental music competitions performed. After the prize presentation ceremony, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, cordially greeted the attendees of the ceremony, it’s leant.
