






The Rakhine State Chief Minister U Naing Oo, inspected areas within the cave of the Lawkananda Pagoda in Sittwe Monday morning to assess maintenance and renovation needs. He also attended a coordination meeting regarding the selection and appointment of ward and village-tract administrators in Rakhine State.
First, the Chief Minister and officials paid homage to the Buddha images inside the pagoda, offering flowers, water, and oil lamps. The Chief Minister then toured the cave area to inspect locations requiring repair and maintenance work. Members of the pagoda board of trustee provided explanations during the inspection, and the Chief Minister instructed the responsible officials on the necessary actions to be taken.
Afterward, the Chief Minister attended the coordination meeting on the selection and appointment of ward and village-tract administrators, held in the meeting hall of the State Government Office, where he delivered the opening remarks.
Subsequently, the Township Administrator of the General Administration Department in Sittwe Township, together with the Township Administrators of Kyaukphyu and Manaung, who participated via video conference, as well as the Director of the State General Administration Department, presented supplementary reports on the progress of selecting and appointing ward and village-tract administrators.
Members of the State Government and other attendees then offered additional comments and recommendations. The Chief Minister responded to the discussions, provided further guidance, and delivered concluding remarks.
In the afternoon, the Chief Minister met with construction contractors from Sittwe at the same meeting hall and provided guidance on matters requiring attention.
Following this, members of the State Government, departmental officials, and representatives of construction companies discussed the strengths and challenges they had encountered in carrying out construction projects, as well as the storage and availability of construction materials. The Chief Minister asked follow-up questions, exchanged views on the issues raised, and concluded the meeting with closing remarks, it is reported.
