Argentina's Health Minister on Wednesday confirmed that the country would manufacture Russia's COVID-19 vaccine after a Russian institute approved locally produced test batches. In a news conference in Buenos Aires, the Gamaleya Institute found the Sputnik V vaccines, which were made at a laboratory in Argentina's capital, were of "satisfactory" quality.

Three consecutive batches of "component one" and " component two" were sent to the institute for the quality control tests. Argentina signed a memorandum of understanding with Russian Direct Investment Fund to produce Sputnik V.
