Appointment of fresher midwives: MoH Union Minister appointed fresher midwives

The ceremony of appointing fresher midwives was held at the hall of Nursing University, Yangon in the morning on 24th March.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win said that this is the fresher midwives appointing ceremony. The midwives are responsible for the essential healthcare duties closely at the front line for the 70% of rural population in Myanmar.

The fresher midwives need to serve the duty as those who are skillful, qualified and adopting the codes of conduct reciting daily during the training period and bear in mind the spirit of Sister Daw Thein Yi who gave healthcare to the patient with burnt injuries sacrificing her life  and awarded the Florence Nightingale medal. The government has granted increment of allowances for uniform, daily expenses and night duty allowance etc.

Next, the Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein gave a remark.

Then, the union minister handed over the certificates of appointment to the fresher midwives and one of the midwives Ma Lin Let Aung extended words of thanks.

Afterward, the union minister, chief minister and officials posed for documentary group photo together with the attendees and cordially greeted the fresher appointed midwives.
