APEC economies pledge to deepen AI cooperation

The 2026 APEC Digital and AI Ministerial Meeting wrapped up on Thursday in Chengdu of China with APEC economies to deepen collaboration on digital transformation and AI.

Chaired by China's Minister of Industry and IT Li Lecheng, the delegates adopted the Chengdu Declaration to ensure safe and inclusive technological growth. They agreed to accelerate responsible AI adoption to boost productivity and transform traditional industries. It also included expanding literacy initiatives and tools for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
