A Cultural Exchange Festival 2026, commemorating the 62nd Anniversary of Yangon University of Foreign Languages (YUFL) was held on January 16.
The event was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, embassy representatives in Myanmar, the Rector of YUFL, rectors and vice-rectors from various universities, teachers, students, and invited guests.
In his opening speech, Chief Minister U Soe Thein said the cultural exchange festival helps promote mutual understanding, cooperation, and practical use of language skills. He also highlighted YUFL’s important role in promoting Myanmar language, culture, and traditions to the international community.
YUFL Rector Dr. May San Yi also delivered a welcome address, followed by cultural performances by the students. The Chief Minister later presented honorary award for the successful organization of the event and cash awards to the performance groups. He then toured the exhibition displays.
