Aid for Residents: Sale of edible oil at affordable prices in Madaya Township

Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association has been selling edible oil at affordable prices for the public in regions and states. In Madaya Township of Mandalay Region, the Association sold the oil while well-wishers donated rice in cooperation with the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Commerce.

In Madaya Township, selling the edible oil and donating the rice took place on August 27 under the management of the township administration department.

Aung Thuya Thein, Chairman, Madaya Township Administration Dept. said "We sold 1,100 viss of edible oil at a price of 5,500 per viss to 2,200 people in our township. Also, well-wishers donated 125 bags of rice for 1,500 people – 2 pyis for a person. We are so proud to be able to work together with associations and donors for those who really need help in the township."

They also sold the edible oil at the rate of 6,200 kyats per viss as the first time in June and this is the second time of selling the oil at affordable prices this year.
