Agriculture Sector: SAC member Visits Farm In Ayeyawaddy Region

Ayeyawaddy Region held a ceremony of 6-acre paddy and bean and green manure plantation on Sunday afternoon in ThaeKone/KyarPhyu Village of Wakema Township in Myaungmya District.
Member of the State Administration Council (SAC) Mahn Nyein Maung, Ayeyawaddy Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and many other officials viewed the plantation and solar-powered irrigation at the farm. It’s learnt that green manure can reduce the use of fertilizers and toxicity of soil and water.
According to the Township Department of Agriculture, 15 to 20 baskets of green manure can be obtained per acre.
