Agriculture Sector: MoALI Meets With UMFCCI Member Associations

Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation held a meeting with the UMFCCI member associations in Yangon for promotion of agriculture sector and coordination with private sector.

It’s attended by Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo and many other governmental and associations’ officials. The meeting discussed corn market condition, use of the technology and machines for export products and acceleration of contract farming and long-term loan. Regarding the cooking oil, attendees made discussions on market condition, oil mill business development, joint venture with growers for sunflower and nut seeds production, investment and consumer safety.

For rice, fertilizer and seed sectors, the meeting discussed consumption and export condition, the current price and benefits for farmers, supply for monsoon paddy season, license for import of fertilizers, distribution of supply to farmers in a timely manner and quality control.

In Yangon, the Union Minister also visited the Agriculture Museum on Myay Padaythar Island in Kandawgyi Lake, heard report on history of the Museum and display and gave necessary instructions before viewing around the Museum.
