Agriculture Sector: Harvest, Drum Seeders and Sunflower Seeds

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein on Tuesday attended a ceremony for the harvesting of the 2025-2026 monsoon paddy model plot and the distribution of Drum Seeders and sunflower seeds to farmers.

At the ceremony in Nyaung Wine Village Tract, Kyauktan Township, Thanlyin District, Yangon Region, the Chief Minister said that the widespread use of drum seeders can effectively help meet and exceed target yields as it saves on labor costs, reduces time consumption, and ensures uniform crop growth.

He also stressed that water availability is the most crucial foundation for the success of the nation's agricultural sector. Following this, concerned officials provided presentations on the status of agricultural activities in Thanlyin District, the status of monsoon paddy cultivation, and the distribution and use of Drum Seeders within the Region.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister presented the drum seeders and sunflower seeds. He then proceeded to tour the site, observing the harvesting of the monsoon paddy model plot, and the displays of drum seeders, sunflower seeding equipment, paddy seed samples, fertilizers, and other agricultural supplies.
