Agriculture and Livestock : MOALI Deputy Minister tours in Bago Region

Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi on September 13, visited the Khettayar Hintha  Co., Ltd in Pyay of Bago Region.

He inspected operation process of seed distribution, contract farming with farmers, seed cleaning, machinery sales, rice and broken rice trading, and fertilizer sales. Later, he visited the Thayarwaddy District Fisheries Department and inspected the freshwater fish breeding and distribution activities of various fish species.

In the afternoon, he visited the Thayawady Agricultural and Livestock Science School. The principal reported that 538 students from three schools are being trained. Students are learning by raising native chickens, feeding pigs and goats different diets to compare growth, and growing quality rice and vegetables.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of producing skilled human resources to improve agriculture and livestock sectors and to ensure the production of quality products.
