Agriculture and Livestock: MoALI Deputy Minister made inspection

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is providing necessary infrastructures for development of livestock breeding sector.

Fingerlings have been added to the various water resources in order to development local fish production, creating job opportunities and income generations. The Ministry is implementing the fish breeding with floating cage system in Upper PaungLaung Dam near LeinLi Village.

On December 11th, Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi and officials visited the site and discussed the cooperative efforts of fish breeders and private entrepreneurs for commercial fish breeding.

The Deputy Minister and party later visited Cereal Crops Research Section under the Agriculture Research Department in Tatkone Township and urged the officials to distribute quality species to the farmers, to implement modern farming system and to provide irrigated water for agriculture and livestock breeding.

They later inspected research plantations of maize and sunflowers. They then proceeded to ShweMyo Livestock Breeding Zone (2) under the Livestock and Veterinary Department and discussed the needs for investment and extended implementation for local food sufficiency.

They also inspected the durability of PaungLaung Dam in KyiTaung Village and instructed to make systematic maintenance of natural resources for sustainability and environmental conservation.
